This is a replacement for the jfif.datatype included in the
picture.datatype v43 distribution.
It is based on the latest IJG JFIF sources. So it supports
progressive jpeg-decoding and more. It seems to be a little
faster than the old Tower-Codec. But this has never been
tested by me.
I've written this datatype because of more and more progressive
jpeg-images appear in HTML-documents.
Another source of motivation was the "mini-war" which was
introduced by Ralph Schmidt who don't like our ProBench V3.0 to
simulate cybergfx-api calls. He forbids the usage of his datatype
together with our Merlin-Software. So I decided to be the nice
guy who does some work to support a software he isn't allowed to
use with his system.
