If (like me) you still think SysInfo is the best system information/speed
program on the planet, then 'batsi' could be useful...
batsi will scan your system (through [rexx]identify.library) and add any
expansion boards to SysInfo's external 'board recognition database'
OK, its just as quick to add them yourself - but if you have a lot of
expansion boards, no documentation for SysInfo or simply can't be bothered/
don't have the knowledge to do it yourself, then this could be useful. In
fact, I wrote this program originally to add all of identify.library's
database to SysInfo, but sadly sysinfo couldn't cope with the huge file, so
I thought I'd cut the program down and release it anyway.
If this helps one SysInfo user who is fed up of seeing their new expansion
board described by numbers, then it has been worth it.
My eventual aim is to have a program which allows you to browse through the
identify.library (and possibly boards.library) database (click on
manufacturer name/ID to see their products), and dynamically add and remove
boards from the sysinfo.boards file. I doubt there will be much call for
it though, so I probably won't ever write it - if you want to, feel free to
use the idea.
