This archive contains a Dutch speech-synthesizer and several additional
programs. It is a counterpart of the well-known SAY utility which
unfortunately disappeared since OS3.0 . The synthesizer can output true
dutch phonemes.
I developed and tested the programs on a A4000/040 having enough CPU for
the signal processing. I don't know if a A1200 or even a A500 is powerfull
enough for real-time processing. Anyway, it is possible to pre-compute the
samples, and then play them by the audio device.
The documentation of the individual programs is in Dutch, because they
are intended for people speaking and hence understanding Dutch.
However, the installation is quite simple even without an automatic
install. Extract the archive in e.g. my_directory, and leave the files
in their subdirectories.
Assign the two logical variables:
	Assign SERVERS: my_directory/SERVERS
	Assign CLIENTS: my_directory/CLIENTS
The server programs need to be started by hand. I was not able to design
them as devices. So, enter:
        Run SERVERS:clown
        Run SERVERS:zeg
Now the client programs can be started.
1. Program 'fonemer' is a user interface for 'zeg'. It's usage should be
   clear. Otherwise, try to decode the (dutch) documentation.
2. Program 'tekenen' is a nice kid-game. The kid must draw the example
   image at the left to the image at the right.
   Click at one of the colors at the bottom, and then at an empty or
   wrong box at the right image. The program checks the correct colors.
   Quit the program by double clicking the big 'X'.
3. Program 'rekenen' is meant to train a kid's computational capabilities.
   Start the game. Click at the digits at the bottom row, and then fill
   in the correct digit at the numbers for the computation. Then, click
   the small clowns face for checking the outcome.
   Quit the program by double clicking the big 'X'.
Finally, stop the servers by:
        Run CLIENTS:zeg -K
        Run CLIENTS:clown -K
