To be honest I did not really invent this object, I found it in a 3D dra-
wing tutorial in a magazine once. What I *have* done is create an Imagine
version with colours and (kind of) texture, name it and make the rather
strange decision to turn the simple design into a "round robin" object.

Starting with the name, "svirgel" (pronounced approximately like "sea-
gull" with a few extra sounds) does not really mean anything (apart from this
object of course!), it is just a word I came up with and liked the sound of.
At one point I found that I had used the same name for a different object,
but I changed that quickly...

Now for the nominally interesting part: The svirgel is a round robin
object. What I mean by that is that I "challenge" other 3D freaks to create
their own svirgel (in the format of whatever program they are using), use it
in a picture and post it somewhere (Amiga users would post it on Aminet of
course) with a reference back to this file, which with a bit of luck would
get more people involved.

This archive does not include an object file because the idea is to make
your own with a personal touch. It's very simple really:
- Make three cubes with the axis at the center. (In Imagine this is done by
making a 1*1 plane and extruding it to its own length, then moving the axis).
- Rotate each cube 45 degrees on a separate axis (One around the X axis, the
other around Y and the third Z).
- Give each cube a visual characteristic that makes it different from the
others. I used primary colours, you could use different materials, textures,
whatever. Anything goes as long as the object is still recognizable. You
could make cubes of ice, water and steam if you like!

That's it. To make my own PCS (Primary Colour Svirgel) look a bit less
dull I used the chrome attributes that came with the program, toning down the
shininess a bit so that the letters both cast shadows and are reflected in
the surface. Two effects for the price of one. ;)

Credit Where Due Dept.:
To make the environment around the svirgel marginally more interesting I used
some files from Aminet.
