This is approximately the first 2500 frames of my short film, "One
Stormy Night with Fred Floaty". It is the tale of Fred, a small
blow-up pool floaty toy, who has aspirations of escaping his dark and
cramped home in a cut-rate travel agent window. It was done entirely
in LightWave 2.0, took nearly 6 months to create and involved a solid
4 months of continuous rendering. The original motivation for the film
was to show off some of the latest effects I had developed using
LightWave which included a spectacular animated simulation of rain and
a pretty darn good pool (IMHO). Render times on a 28MHz Zeus equipped
2000 averaged about 1 hour per frame (some took up to 2 hours and 40
min.) The film took first place in Amiga World's 1992 animation
contest and is available from them (along with 18 other top entries)
on their "Amigamations" tape.

The animation in this file has been shrunk down from 24bit 752x480 to
188x120 in 4bit grayscale so that a good sized chunk of the film (a
"teaser") could be shown without consuming gobs of memory. The
original files consumed well over 2.5GB. When playing this animation,
make sure to limit playback speed to 30fps. The deltas are small
enough that most anim players will start out at 60fps.

Hardware used:
Commodore Amiga 2000, Progressive Peripherals Zeus accelerator, NewTek
Video Toaster, Epson 300C scanner

Software used:
LightWave 3D 2.0 and Toaster Paint from NewTek, Deluxe Paint IV from
Electronic Arts, ADPro and MorphPlus from ASDG, Cinemorph from GVP,
Pixel 3D from Axiom Software.
