Inasmuch as the score of the finale of Symphony on a Mountain
Air requires a harp, cornets, and a bass clarinet, you will need two
synths to play this sequence as written. Most of the instruments are
sequenced for the Proteus 2, with the Korg O3R/W being used for
the remaining instruments (except that I use a Korg P3 for the piano).
I have attempted to use the Proteus 2XR presets for the winds
whenever possible (they are in locations 65-68), but in some
tutti passages the Proteus 2 runs out of polyphony; hence, I have
used the solo programs at this point (24,26,28, and 30) and, of
course, I have used the solo programs when the score calls for
a solo instrument.
Non-Proteus 2 users should be aware that I use programs 19 and
20 for Tremolo Strings (the latter program adds a crescendo).
Everything else should be easy, as all instruments have been
tranposed to C, the track names merely indicate the original
transposition of the instrument. Bars&Pipes Professional users will
note the transposition of the Trombones&Tuba and Timpani tracks to
correct for E-mu's transposition of these programs in the Proteus 2.
