Short: Monitor preset for BVision + 1940 + CGX4 Author: marco.dvv@flashnet.it (Marco De Vitis) Uploader: marco dvv flashnet it (Marco De Vitis) Type: driver/moni Requires: BVision gfx board, 1940 monitor and CyberGraphX 4.1+ Architecture: m68k-amigaos This is my custom monitor preset, made to suit my system setup: an Amiga1200 with a PowerUp board, a BVision graphics board and a Commodore 1940 monitor (until I can afford a new one). If you have a similar setup and want to try this preset, just decompress the LHA archive and put the monitor file in your SYS:Prefs/Presets/monitors directory; then launch the CGXMode program and load the file, selecting the proper option from the pull-down menu. You might now want to test some screenmodes to check that all is ok. Finally click on the "Save" button, quit CGXMode and reboot your system. IMPORTANT NOTES: - CyberGraphX 4.1 (or later) is needed, as previous versions didn't properly support polarity settings and most screenmodes could not fit on the monitor screen. - You'll probably have to reconfigure most of your programs to use the different screenmodes. - The refresh rates are ugly, the poor 1940 can't decently handle high resolution modes; buy a better monitor as soon as you can. - Most screenmodes in this preset fill up the entire monitor screen, anyway some of them slightly differ from the others, but as the 1940 has its knobs on the front you can easily adjust them on the fly. For example, 320x240 and 640x480 modes are slightly taller than 800x600, while 1120x603 is more narrow (you can adjust it using the "H-WIDTH" button on the 1940). If you want to try improving this situation and you succeed, please make me know and send me your preset, I'll appreciate it ;). Here follows a list of available modes. I also created some unusual modes especially for games (Descent, Quake...), like 320x200, 320x400, 640x400 etc. The 1024x610 mode was created just to have something like the 1024x637 one, but which didn't need any knob adjustments (it's tall just like the 800x600 which I normally use).
